There are no major changes between the current model-year of the Kia Sorento Hybrid and the previous model, including in terms of esthetics and mechanics.

The EX trim –the base model for the plug-in hybrid Sorento- has a lot to offer!
2023 Kia Sorento PHEV
Just like all of the Kia Sorento plug-in hybrid models, the EX trim is equipped with a 1.6 L 4- cylinder turbo PHEV, coupled with a permanent magnet synchronous motor. This powertrain provides the Sorento PHEV with a net 261 horsepower and 268 lb-ft. maximum torque.
The Sorento PHEV boasts beautiful athletic and elegant lines, enhanced by 19- inch aerodynamic rims with an alloy machined finish, LED fog lights, headlights and daylights, along with heated power exterior mirrors with integrated flashers.

2023 Kia Sorento PHEV
The interior can welcome up to 6- passengers and their luggage comfortably, and offers a long list of amenities and added technologies. Among these, you will find multi-zone auto climate control, heated front seats, luxury pedals, an 8- inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, paddle shifters on the steering wheel, wireless cellphone charging, and much more.
And when it comes to safety, you will find technologies like front and rear parking sensors, collision avoidance assistance in the front, rear and blind spots, lane keep assist and so much more.
All Sorento PHEV offer a 51 kilometer range when in full electric mode and have remarkable fuel consumption numbers which can reach 6.9 L/100 km (combined fuel) and only 3.0 Le/100 km (combined fuel-electric).

2023 Kia Sorento PHEV
The most noticeable differences with the 2023 Sorento PHEV SX are found in the added technologies and the interior features. In fact, you will find leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, 4 lumbar support settings on the driver’s seat (2 for front passenger) and the memory function on the driver’s seat as well, among other things.
When it comes to technologies, the SX trim adds –among other things- head-up display, a Bose sound system and the parking collision avoidance assistance system, when on reverse.
Let’s now take a look at the Kia Sorento hybrid models that are not plug-ins; offering a better energy efficiency than the 2023 Kia Sorento fuel models, but not as much as the Sorento PHEV, they are still an excellent option if you are looking for an affordable Sorento hybrid.
The 2023 Kia Sorento HEV LX is equipped with a 1.6 L 4- cylinder engine coupled with an electric motor, for a total of 227 horsepower and 258 lb-ft. maximum torque, which is enough for a dynamic but smooth driving experience.
The Kia Sorento hybrid comes in 3 different body colors:
It is equipped with 17- inch wheels and LED daylights and sidelights, heated power side view mirrors with integrated flashers along with a satin chrome radiator grille trim, among other things.

Contrary to the Sorento PHEV, the hybrid (only) version cannot run in 100 % electric mode. However, you will be able to drive for over 1,000 kilometers between trips to the gas station, thanks to the outstanding combined city/highway energy efficiency it offers, of only 6.6 L/100 km!
The 2023 Kia Sorento HEV EX offers the same technical features as the LX model. However, it does include some exterior differences, like the choice between 6 different body colors like the PHEV trims:
